Synthesis & Reflection

Prism of Foundations of Learning.png

Above is my synthesis of Professor Koszalka's Foundations of Learning Pyramid, which was presented throughout the course, combined with my concept of my Knowledge Base as the Prism.  Sensory Reception equals the "white light" that enters the triangular prism.  There it is split into Objectivist and Constructivist philosophical theories, and further refracted through the Cognitivist, Behaviorist, and Social Learning theories (represented by the primary colors, red, yellow, and blue).  The instructional strategies relate to their adjacent learning theory and are represented by the secondary colors (orange, green, indigo).  Learning emerges as behavior in a rainbow of colors.

Bonus!

The image of the silhouette of the young woman found on my KB Front Page was deliberately chosen.  It intends to reflect a college-age version of the image of the young girl on the front cover of our textbook:

Human Learning, 7th Edition, by Jeanne Ellis Ormrod.
